Bio : George Bingham

Working in wax or clay which is then cast in bronze, George sculpts a range of subjects, with the emphasis on horses, racing and hunting.

His work extends from the Classical imagery of the horse, through to scenes from the beginning of the last century.

Whilst inspired by artists such as Munnings, Snaffles and Armour, the 19thC animalier sculptors Barye, Fremiet and Bonheur, George also draws on a wealth of personal experience of horses, having hunted all of his life and ridden as a point-to-point jockey for a decade.

The details and 'feel' for a horse which is clearly demonstrated in his work can only be achieved by such a profound understanding and knowledge of the animal.
