British sculptor, Michael, was born in Staffordshire in the north of England  in 1959.

He completed a BA honours degree in Sculpture, then won the coveted Landseer prize in 1983, after gaining a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He then continued his studies at The Sir Henry Doulton Sculpture School under Colin Melbourne ARCA and Dame Elizabeth Frink RA.

Michael has previously been elected a member of both the Royal Society of British Sculptors and the National Sculpture Society (USA).

The inspiration of the human form and its "dramatic poetry" on his work, together with his exquisite skills, results in pieces which are individual and beautiful. His intricate pieces are an object of pure spirit, whilst being solid forms that can be touched and walked around - such is the fascination and wonder of sculpture.

His sculpture are cast in bronze (from a clay 'master'), uniquely finished and patinated. A process which is wholly under his control, to allow him to enhance and refine the final piece.

“Sculpture for me, is essentially a theatrical construction, an attempt to show and illuminate a chosen moment in time. I draw my creative inspiration from theatre, myth, dance and illusion.”
