This original painting by Jen Allen is framed in a 1cm wide black tray frame, and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. As the canvas is varnished, this painting is not glazed.

WHAT IS HAND FINISHED FRAMING?

Hand finished frames give a unique character to an original painting as an almost infinite combination of profiles, finishes and colours are possible.

Standard framing involves cutting and joining pre-finished mouldings to make the frame.

Hand finished framing requires a skilled craftsman who will first select a suitable frame profile which is cut and joined to make a bare wood frame.  The frame is then finished using a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques and materials.  Depending on the finish chosen a frame may take many days to complete as component layers are built up to achieve the desired result. 

Biography

Jen graduated from art school in 2000 and has pursued a career as a professional artist for over 20 years. Her innovative style and gift for interpretation has made her one of this country’s most exciting established artists.

Jen has drawn on her experience of working in the fields of illustration, set painting, prop making and also her work as a circus performer. All have made their mark on her work today as her paintings have a distinctive quality about them, combining a unique use of colour and contrast to create bold, dynamic compositions.

Working as an artist is Jen’s passion. She loves the creative process involved in working on new projects. Her paintings are a new take on a familiar subjects and their success and collectability is a just reward for her pushing the boundaries of those traditional subjects.  
Jen has held exhibitions in many prestigious galleries and has a large group of celebrity and business collectors. One particular collection of paintings was even lost at sea on its way to a show leading Jen to ponder whether she has the longest running art show below the waves!

Delivery

Once your order has been placed on our website, you will receive an email acknowledgement and receipt. We will contact you shortly after to arrange a delivery day to suit you.

For your convenience, our courier APC will email you on the day of delivery with an estimated time slot. We have worked with APC for many years, and pack all framed and mounted artwork with extreme care.

We hope you love your new artwork, but if you would like to return it we offer FREE 14 day returns.

If the item is unused, in its original condition and packaging, and accompanied by valid proof of purchase, we’ll offer a full refund (including delivery charge).
