This original painting by J&J is framed in a 1cm wide black tray frame, and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. As the canvas is varnished, this print is not glazed.

WHAT IS HAND FINISHED FRAMING?

Hand finished frames give a unique character to an original painting as an almost infinite combination of profiles, finishes and colours are possible.

Standard framing involves cutting and joining pre-finished mouldings to make the frame.

Hand finished framing requires a skilled craftsman who will first select a suitable frame profile which is cut and joined to make a bare wood frame.  The frame is then finished using a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques and materials.  Depending on the finish chosen a frame may take many days to complete as component layers are built up to achieve the desired result. 

Biography

J&J is a collaborative series of paintings using to the fullest the combined talents of two of this country’s most creative and talented artists, Jay Fortune and Jen Allen.
Jay Fortune spent many years after Art School following his other passion becoming a very successful magician. Work on a number of books as a illustrator and continuing to sketch led in 2018 to Jay deciding to focus on his art and he hasn’t looked back! Portraits commissioned include Uri Geller and Derren Brown.
Jen Allen has spent most of her working life as a professional artist using her experience as an illustrator, designer and even a circus performer to create bold, innovative paintings which elevate any subject she chooses.
Together, Jen and Jay are creating a series of works depicting some of the worlds most iconic figures from the world of cinema and the arts. Working separately and passing each painting to one another as soon as they feel satisfied with their individual contributions, they build each work to a finished image with a sense of vibrancy and fun doing a unique justice to all these historic figures.

Delivery

Once your order has been placed on our website, you will receive an email acknowledgement and receipt. We will contact you shortly after to arrange a delivery day to suit you.

For your convenience, our courier APC will email you on the day of delivery with an estimated time slot. We have worked with APC for many years, and pack all framed and mounted artwork with extreme care.
