Limited to just 25 prints, the 'Odd Man Out - Diptych' Artist's Proof is a stunning large scale canvas print comprising of two stretched canvases.

Printed on 450gsm fine art canvas, each (right hand) print is individually signed 'AP' and numbered by Debbie and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. The print is finished with a dark grey edge, fitted to a 3.4cm deep tulip wood stretcher and strung and ready to hang.

Traditionally an artist's proof was a print made by the artist during the print-making process in order to understand the progress of the printing plate the artist was working on.  In this respect it was a 'work in progress' print.

With the development of modern printing techniques the term is now used to refer to a number of finished prints that are available in addition to the main limited edition, and are reproduced to the same exact high quality.  The number of artist proofs should not exceed 10% of the size of the main limited edition.  The artist proofs may be exactly the same as the main limited edition or, as is the case with Debbie Boon, the artist proofs may be a different format.

Art collectors often prefer artist proofs because there are fewer of them.  For collectors of Debbie Boon the artist's proof offers an opportunity to enjoy a print which very closely replicates the look, finish, and scale of the original painting.

All dimensions are Height x Width and are approximate.

Debbie Boon was born in 1960 and graduated from Loughborough College of Art in 1980 to begin her creative professional career as a graphic designer and illustrator.

Throughout the nineties and into the new millennium she became well known as a children’s book illustrator, whilst also establishing herself as a painter in commercial and private spheres.

Whether painting animals, flora & fauna, or portraits, Debbie aims to capture and convey her personal experience of the subject through colour, light and texture.

Working on canvas, she uses heavy bodied acrylics and glazes, working quickly at the initial stage to block in the main elements of the composition and then applying layers of paint to create texture. In this way she is able to create original artworks, that have an energy and vibrancy which reflects the ‘joie de vivre’ she feels when faced with a subject that captures her imagination.

Debbie Boon’s work has the ability to sit comfortably in both traditional and contemporary settings and graces the walls of numerous boutique hotels, including Michael Caine's signature restaurant in the Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter.
