Steven Jones
Brought up in an idyllic village in North Wales, Steven Jones was surrounded by a landscape bound to inspire his artistic sensibilities, indeed by the age of ten he had won his first national painting competition.
Taught by one of the best artists in Wales, Keith Bowen, at the start of his career Steven then went on to work with one of Britain’s best illustrators, Mike Vaughan. After an illustrious four years working for clients including the BBC, Collins Books and the Sunday Telegraph he decided to return to his fine art roots, painting in oils.
Finding inspiration in Impressionism and the Newlyn School Steven produces beautifully executed seascapes and landscapes using soft brushstrokes to blend tones and colours, creating stunning, contemplative works of art.
Steven has become renowned for his beach scenes invoking hazy, long days spent with the family and his work sits in many private collections with originals selling in the USA, Dublin, Scotland, Devon, Cornwall and London.
