Charlotte Lyon
Charlotte Lyon was born in London, in 1965, from a long line of artists, both her mother, the portrait painter Toby Lyon, and her father, the sculptor Peter Lyon helped and influenced her early work, along with her grandfather Robert Lyon who was principle of Edinburgh School of Art.
Charlotte is a strongly representational artist. Her colours are intense and her bold compositions suggest entrapment, at the same time conveying a strong sense of the subjects' dignity.
Working in oil on canvas and wood panel, Charlotte now lives and paints in Amsterdam where she continues to work in the same genre finding new topics, perfecting the style and expanding on format and technique.
Her time is divided between exhibitions in England, France and Holland together with private commissions for clients worldwide.
