Pino Castagna

Born in Castelgomberto, Italy in 1932. At the age of 11 Pino Castagna was sent to college in Desenzano where a German nobleman noticed and encouraged his artistic abilities. Pino Castagna then went on to study at art school, giving drawing lessons at the same time. After graduating in 1956 Castagna continued to work over a variety of disciplines until 1964, when he established sculpture as his medium executing his first bronze, aluminium ceramic pieces. Pino set up a studio in Costermano where he prefers to live and work in the tranquillity of the hills.
