Sue MacLaurin
Sue MacLaurin was born in Colchester in 1948 and grew up surrounded by nature in Northern Rhodesia, Zimbabwe. Returning to England in 1964, she commenced formal art training at the City and Guilds of London Art School, and later continued her art studies at Southampton Art College and completed her Fine Art Degree at Winchester College of Art.
From her rich experiences of life in Africa, Sue developed a passion for wildlife and, over the years, has taken various types of farm and zoological based employment. Her artwork reflects a deep understanding of animals gained from a lifetime of observation.
Now settled in Wiltshire, she produces her distinctive sculptures and has received great acclaim for her profoundly well observed portraits of wild animals. Her lively and dynamic bronze sculptures are held in galleries and private collections throughout the UK.
